Sidi Hamad Pyramids View

Sidi Hamad suits budget travellers and families who want a family-run hotel in Nazlet el-Samman, with a terrace facing the pyramids and one of the highest staff scores near the plateau. It does not suit travellers who need card payment, a pool or a quiet street, or families who need a cot.

Why stay here

  • A top staff scoreIt has 9.3 on Booking.com from 787 reviews (checked 12 Oct 2026). Staff score 9.9, level with Atlantis Pyramids Inn as the highest of the Cairo and Giza hotels we compared, and value for money 9.6.
  • Rooms built for familiesAll four room types sleep more than two: a deluxe room for two adults and a child, a deluxe with two double beds, a family studio and a family suite. That is unusual among the small hotels by the pyramids, where doubles are the norm.
  • More to do on site than mostThe hotel lists a garden, a terrace with a pyramids view, a restaurant and bar, a barbecue area, table tennis and bikes to rent. Breakfast is a buffet. Staff speak Arabic, English, German and Spanish, according to the listing.
  • Low price for the areaWhen we checked it was around €47 a night for two in mid-January 2027, on a discounted rate with breakfast and free cancellation that needed no card (price tier 1 of 4). Prices change, so check your own dates.

Good to know before you book

  • Cash onlyPayment at the hotel is cash only. Bring Egyptian pounds, or ask in advance whether they take euros or dollars and at what rate.
  • No cots or extra beds, adults from 11There are no cots or extra beds, and children from 11 pay as adults. With a baby or a third child, check the bed set-up of the family studio or suite before you book.
  • Facilities score lowestFacilities is its weakest sub-score at 8.9, and Wi-Fi scores 8.4. There is no pool. If you need reliable internet for work, bring a local SIM or eSIM as a backup.
  • A vague addressThe listing gives the address only as the middle of Nazlet el-Samman, about 800 m from the Sphinx. Ask the hotel for a map pin before you travel and send it to your driver, as the lanes of the neighbourhood are hard to find at night.

Rooms

Couples can take the deluxe room, which is set up for two adults and one child, so it is roomy for two. The deluxe with two double beds works for two couples, friends who prefer separate beds, or a family of four with older children.

For families who want more space, the family studio and the family suite are the two larger units. Remember that children from 11 count as adults on price and there are no cots, so compare the totals with Life Pyramids Inn, where children only pay as adults from 18. Check-in runs from 13:00 to 23:30 and check-out is until 12:00.

Getting there and around

From Cairo International Airport

The airport is on the far side of the city, roughly 40 km away. Plan on about 45 minutes by car off-peak and 90 minutes or more at rush hour. The hotel lists a paid airport transfer, which also solves the address problem. See Cairo airport to your hotel.

From Sphinx International Airport

Sphinx airport is on the desert road west of Giza, usually a shorter drive than from Cairo International. Arrange the transfer before you land; the hotel has free private parking if you arrive by car.

To the sights

The Sphinx is about 800 m away. For the plateau, the main entrance is now the visitor centre on the Cairo–Fayoum road, on the south side, a short taxi ride. The Grand Egyptian Museum is about 2 km from the pyramids, and Downtown roughly 20 km by road, often an hour or more. See Saqqara and Dahshur for a day trip south.

How it compares

Sidi Hamad against its neighbour Life Pyramids Inn, the larger Mamlouk with its pool, and Atlantis, a smaller guest house further out. All four ask for cash at the property.
