Why stay here
- Right by the SphinxThe inn stands opposite the sound and light show seating in Nazlet el-Samman, about 500 m from the Sphinx. Location scores 9.7, the best location score of the Giza hotels in this guide.
- Many reviews, consistently highIt has 9.4 on Booking.com from 1,006 reviews (checked 12 Oct 2026), one of the largest review counts near the pyramids. Staff score 9.8 and value for money 9.6.
- A budget priceWhen we checked it was around €45 a night for two in mid-January 2027, on a discounted rate with breakfast and free cancellation that did not need a card. That is about half the price of the mid-range hotels nearby. Prices change, so check your own dates.
- Generous with older childrenChildren of all ages are welcome, and they only pay as adults from 18. Several hotels near the plateau charge the adult rate from 11 to 13, which makes this a good option for families with teenagers, as long as the room fits.
Good to know before you book
- Cash onlyPayment at the inn is cash only. Withdraw Egyptian pounds before you arrive, and ask in advance which currency they prefer if you plan to pay in euros or dollars.
- Wi-Fi is the weak pointFree Wi-Fi scores 8.3, the lowest of its sub-scores. It should do for messages and maps; for video calls or large uploads, a local SIM or eSIM is a safer bet.
- No cots or extra bedsThe inn does not offer cots or extra beds, so every guest needs a bed in the room type you book. For three, book the triple; for more, two rooms.
- Nazlet el-Samman is busyThe streets around the Sphinx are dusty, loud and full of people offering horse and camel rides. The new main entrance to the plateau is on the Cairo–Fayoum road, on the south side, so being near the Sphinx does not automatically mean being near the gate you will use. See common scams in Egypt.

Rooms
There are eight room types, which is a lot for an inn. Couples can choose the basic double (one or two beds), the double with garden view, the superior double, the deluxe king or the double with pyramids view. If the view is why you are staying here, book the pyramids-view double by name; the others do not promise it, though the terrace looks at the pyramids anyway.
The junior suite with garden view gives more space, the triple suits three adults or a family with one child, and there is a single for solo travellers. A shared kitchen is listed, along with a restaurant and bar. Check-in is from 12:00 and check-out until 11:00; tell the inn your arrival time.

Getting there and around
From Cairo International Airport
The airport is on the other side of Cairo, roughly 40 km away. By car, plan on about 45 minutes off-peak and 90 minutes or more at rush hour. The inn lists an airport transfer; otherwise use Uber or Careem. See Cairo airport to your hotel.
From Sphinx International Airport
Sphinx airport is on the desert road west of Giza and is usually a much shorter drive than Cairo International. Arrange a transfer or check that a ride app shows cars before you land.
To the sights
The Sphinx is about 500 m away and the sound and light show is across the street. For the plateau ticket and the buses, the main entrance is the visitor centre on the Cairo–Fayoum road, a short taxi ride. The Grand Egyptian Museum is about 2 km from the pyramids, and Downtown roughly 20 km by road. See visiting the Pyramids of Giza.
