Why stay here
- Huge gardens on an islandThe resort sits on Kings Island in the Nile south of town and lists 165 acres of gardens, far more space than any other hotel in this guide. Every room has its own terrace, and the setting is green and quiet.
- A lot to do without leavingThe hotel lists three outdoor pools, one of them an infinity pool on the Nile, a spa with hammam, four tennis courts, a kayak and paramotor centre and more than ten restaurants, bars and lounges, from Italian and French to Asian and Egyptian grill.
- Good for familiesChildren of any age are welcome, cots are free and an extra bed for ages 6 to 12 was about US$15 a night when we checked. There are family and quadruple rooms, so a family of four does not need two rooms.
- Free shuttle to the centreA free shuttle runs to the centre of Luxor at fixed times, about 15 minutes to Luxor Temple according to the hotel. When we checked it was around €157 a night for two in mid-January 2027 (price tier 3 of 4). Prices change, so check your dates.
Good to know before you book
- The lowest overall score of the big hotelsIt has 8.7 on Booking.com from 3,764 reviews (checked 11 Oct 2026), good but below the Corniche hotels (9.0 to 9.1). Staff (8.8) and value for money (8.7) are lower than at Achti or the Sonesta.
- Weak Wi-FiFree Wi-Fi scores 7.8, the lowest of the large hotels in this guide. Plan to download maps and tickets before you leave the room, and do not count on long video calls.
- You depend on the shuttle or taxisLuxor Temple is about 3.8 km away in a straight line and Karnak about 6.6 km. Shuttles run at set times and a UK tour operator notes that evening runs can fill up in peak season, so book your seat early in the day or budget for taxis.
- Residents' rate and a legal rule for couplesThere is a cheaper rate for Egyptians and residents only; foreign guests who book it can be charged the difference. Under Egyptian law, Egyptian and Arab couples must show a marriage certificate at check-in, as in other Egyptian hotels. Pets are not allowed.

Rooms
The standard garden-view room is about 24 m² with a terrace, smaller than the entry rooms at the Corniche hotels (around 30 to 32 m²). Deluxe rooms come with a garden view or a Nile view; the Nile-view ones are worth it if you plan to spend time at the room.
Families should look at the family or quadruple rooms. Above that are the junior suite, executive suite, royal suite and a royal villa for groups who want privacy within the resort. Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out until 12:00.

Getting there and around
From Luxor airport
The airport is about 8.3 km in a straight line; the hotel gives about 14 km by road. Plan on roughly 20 to 30 minutes by taxi or transfer.
From Luxor railway station
The station is about 3.7 km in a straight line, usually 10 to 15 minutes by taxi.
To the sights
Use the free shuttle or a taxi to reach Luxor Temple (about 15 minutes), Luxor Museum and Karnak (about 20 minutes or more). The hotel is on the way to the road bridge south of town, so the drive to the West Bank sights is a little shorter than from the centre, though the Valley of the Kings is still roughly 35 to 45 minutes away.
How it compares
Jolie Ville is the resort-style option of price tier 3. It is compared here with Achti, the other garden resort, and with two hotels that score higher but cost more or have less space.

Questions
Is Jolie Ville Kings Island really on an island?
Yes, it is on Kings Island in the Nile, south of the town centre. A short bridge links the island to the East Bank, so you arrive by road like at any other hotel; the hotel also mentions access by boat.
How do I get to Luxor Temple from the hotel?
Take the free scheduled shuttle, about 15 minutes, or a taxi. In busy months reserve shuttle seats in the morning, especially for the early evening runs.
Is it good for children?
It is one of the better options for families in Luxor: free cots, family and quadruple rooms, three pools, tennis courts and a lot of space in the gardens.
How good is the Wi-Fi?
It is the weakest point: 7.8 on Booking.com. It works for messages and maps, but it is not the right base if you need to work online every day.
Is Jolie Ville the same as the old Maritim hotel?
Yes. A UK tour operator notes that the resort traded for years as the Maritim Jolie Ville Kings Island and was renamed after a renovation.
Do Egyptian couples need a marriage certificate?
Under Egyptian law, Egyptian and Arab couples must show a marriage certificate to share a room. This applies at hotels across Egypt, not only here.
