Steigenberger Nile Palace Luxor

The Steigenberger Nile Palace suits travellers who want a five-star city hotel within walking distance of Luxor Temple, with two pools and reliable Wi-Fi. It suits less those on a tighter budget or families with a baby, since it was the priciest of the Corniche hotels on our dates and it has no cots.

Why stay here

  • The best Wi-Fi score among the big hotelsFree Wi-Fi scores 9.3 on Booking.com, high for Egypt and well above Achti (8.4) and Jolie Ville (7.8). If you need to work, upload photos or make video calls between temple visits, this matters.
  • Solid scores from a large number of guestsIt has 9.0 on Booking.com from 2,155 reviews (checked 11 Oct 2026). Staff score 9.4, cleanliness and comfort 9.3, and location 9.3.
  • Walk to Luxor Temple and the shopsLuxor Temple is about 1.5 km in a straight line, and the main shopping streets are a short walk away. The public ferry to the West Bank leaves from near the temple, so you can reach it on foot.
  • Two pools and a full spaThe hotel lists two swimming pools, a spa with sauna, hot tub and massage, a fitness centre and a garden, plus Lebanese and international restaurants and a tour desk to book excursions.

Good to know before you book

  • The highest price on the Corniche when we checkedIt was around €215 a night for two in mid-January 2027 (price tier 3 of 4), more than the Sonesta next door (€185) and Achti (€137). Value for money scores 8.8, its lowest sub-score. Prices change, so compare your own dates.
  • Check which way your room facesThe hotel advertises Nile views, but the room types we saw listed are city-view or patio-view classic and executive rooms, plus suites. If a river view matters, confirm it with the hotel before you book.
  • No cots, and no outside foodThe hotel lists no cots, which matters if you travel with a baby. Children from 12 pay as adults. Outside food is not allowed in the hotel, so picnics in the room are out. Pets are not allowed.
  • A busy street outsideIt is on Khaled Ibn el Walid street, part of the Corniche hotel strip. That is convenient for walking and taxis, but it is a city setting, not a quiet garden resort.

Rooms

The classic room with city view is about 32 m² with a balcony and is the standard choice. Classic and executive rooms with patio view face the hotel's patio rather than the street, which can be quieter.

For families, the family suite gives more space, but remember there are no cots for babies. Above that are the junior suite and the presidential suite. Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out between 12:00 and 13:00, a little later than at the Sonesta next door.

Questions

Yes. It is about 1.5 km in a straight line, a walk of roughly 20 minutes along the Corniche.

Is the Wi-Fi good enough to work?

It scores 9.3 on Booking.com, the best of the large hotels in this guide. For most remote work it should be fine; speeds can still vary in Egypt.

Does it have baby cots?

No. The hotel lists that cots are not available. If you travel with a baby, the Jolie Ville offers free cots.

Is it the same hotel as the Steigenberger Resort Achti?

No. Both belong to the Steigenberger brand, but Achti is a separate resort with gardens and bungalows a short distance south on the Corniche.

Do all rooms look over the Nile?

No. The room types listed have city or patio views. If you want a river view, ask the hotel before booking.

Can I eat food I bring from outside?

The hotel does not allow outside food. There are Lebanese and international restaurants on site, and many cafés and restaurants a short walk away in town.
