Tiye Pyramids Hotel

Tiye Pyramids suits couples and small families who want a small, recently opened place near the pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum, with breakfast on a roof terrace. It does not suit travellers who want a pool, card payment or a budget price: it costs roughly twice as much as the best-rated family-run inns nearby.

Why stay here

  • Close to both big sightsThe hotel gives the pyramids at about 1.4 km and the Grand Egyptian Museum at about 1.9 km. Few hotels in this guide are that close to both, which makes a pyramids morning and a museum afternoon easy without a long drive.
  • Very strong Wi-Fi and staff scoresIt has 9.0 on Booking.com from 419 reviews (checked 12 Oct 2026). Free Wi-Fi scores 9.8 and staff 9.6, well above most hotels near the plateau, which matters if you work on the road or upload photos at night.
  • Small and recentThe hotel opened in 2025 and has only a handful of rooms on the sixth floor of a building. Cleanliness and comfort both score 9.3, in line with a place that is still new.
  • A roof terrace for breakfastThe hotel lists a rooftop restaurant and a terrace, and one room type is sold with a hot tub and a landmark view. Breakfast was included in the lowest rate for our dates.

Good to know before you book

  • Cash only at the propertyBooking.com lists cash as the only payment method. The cheapest rate for our dates was pay at the property with free cancellation, so plan to bring the full amount in cash, and ask in advance which currency they accept.
  • Expensive for a guest houseAt around €97 a night for two in mid-January 2027 when we checked (price tier 3 of 4), it costs about twice as much as Life Pyramids Inn or Sidi Hamad, which score higher overall. You pay for the newer building and the location between the two sights. Prices change, so check your own dates.
  • An upper-floor hotelThe rooms are on the sixth floor of an apartment building, not in a standalone hotel. There is no pool, garden or spa listed, and facilities score 9.1.
  • Children from 11 pay as adultsChildren of all ages are welcome and cots are free, but from 11 a child counts as an adult on price. An extra bed for ages 5 to 10 cost US$10 a night when we checked. Pets are not allowed.

Rooms

For two, the choice is between the standard double and the double with balcony; the balcony is the one to pick if you want to sit outside, since the roof terrace is shared. The superior king with hot tub and landmark view is the top room and the one to ask about if a view from the room matters to you.

For three there is a triple with city view, and families can take the superior family room. Check-in runs from 14:00 to 23:00 and check-out from 08:00 to 12:00, so tell the hotel if you land late at night.

Getting there and around

From Cairo International Airport

The airport is on the far side of the city, roughly 40 km away. By car it usually takes about 45 minutes off-peak and 90 minutes or more at rush hour. The hotel lists an airport transfer, which is the simplest option for a late arrival. See Cairo airport to your hotel.

From Sphinx International Airport

Sphinx airport is on the desert road on the western side of Giza, usually a much shorter drive than from Cairo International. Arrange the transfer in advance, as the airport is small.

To the sights

The Grand Egyptian Museum is about 1.9 km away, a short taxi ride. The main entrance to the pyramids is now the visitor centre on the Cairo–Fayoum road, on the south side of the plateau, so tell your driver 'Giza Pyramids Visitor Center'. Downtown and the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir are roughly 20 km by road, often an hour or more in traffic.

How it compares

Tiye against two other mid-range hotels near the plateau and ONE GATE, a more expensive inn in the same area. Look at the price column: the family-run inns of Nazlet el-Samman cost far less.
