Why stay here

  • The lowest price in this guideAt around €17 a night for two in mid-January 2027 when we checked, it is the lowest price we recorded among all the hotels in this guide. Value for money scores 9.7, one of the highest value scores we list.
  • Strong scores for a small placeIt scores 9.4 on Booking.com from 592 reviews (checked 11 Oct 2026) and 4.7 on Google Maps from 110 reviews. Staff reach 9.8 and cleanliness 9.5; even Wi-Fi, its lowest sub-score, is 9.0.
  • Walk to the temple and the trainsIt is on the East Bank, about 0.6 km in a straight line from Luxor Temple and 0.8 km from the railway station. The Corniche, the souq and the public ferry to the West Bank are all within walking distance, so you need fewer taxis than on the West Bank or at the big resorts.
  • More than it seems for the priceThe hotel lists a sun terrace, a bar, a hot tub and massage, along with daily housekeeping, laundry and help with public transport tickets. A continental breakfast is served; check whether your rate includes it.

Good to know before you book

  • A short check-in windowCheck-in runs only from 15:00 to 18:00, and check-out from 08:00 to 11:00. If you arrive outside those hours, tell the guest house your arrival time in advance and confirm someone will be there.
  • One room shares a bathroomThe cheapest option is a double with a shared bathroom. If you want your own bathroom, pick any of the other room types and compare the prices for your dates.
  • No pool, simple facilitiesFacilities score 9.3 and there is no pool. On hot afternoons from April to October, a pool may matter more than it seems; if so, compare with Luxor Oasis Guest House on the West Bank.
  • Pets are welcomeUnusually for Luxor, the guest house allows pets at no extra charge. Worth knowing if you travel with one, or if you have an allergy.

Rooms

The double with shared bathroom is the cheapest bed in the guide; fine for a couple on a tight budget who do not mind a shared bathroom. The double room adds a private bathroom, and the deluxe and superior double or twin rooms add space and a choice of beds.

For longer stays or families, the one-bedroom apartment gives a separate living area. All rooms list air conditioning, which matters most from April to October.

Getting there and around

From Luxor airport

The airport is about 7.3 km in a straight line, on the same bank, so there is no river to cross. A taxi usually takes roughly 20 minutes; agree the fare first. The guest house lists a paid airport shuttle, which also solves the late-arrival question.

From Luxor railway station

The station is about 0.8 km away in a straight line. With light bags you can walk in roughly 10 to 15 minutes; otherwise a short taxi ride. Arrival by train is one of the easiest ways to reach this guest house.

To the sights

Luxor Temple is a short walk, and Karnak about 3.5 km north, a short taxi ride or a longer walk along the Corniche. For the West Bank, walk to the public ferry, cross, and take a taxi to the tombs and temples; a car over the bridge works too but takes longer. See Luxor in 3 days.

How it compares

The table compares Abeer with two budget stays across the river in the West Bank villages, and with the Steigenberger Resort Achti, the most affordable of the big East Bank resorts, to show what more money buys.
