Why stay here
- A pool at a budget priceIt is in the lowest price tier of this guide, at around €41 a night for two in mid-January 2027 when we checked, and it still lists an outdoor pool open all year, a garden and a sun terrace. Few places in Luxor offer that combination at this price.
- Even scores across the boardIt scores 9.1 on Booking.com from 827 reviews (checked 11 Oct 2026) and 4.8 on Google Maps from 325 reviews. No sub-score falls below 9.0; staff lead at 9.4, with value for money and Wi-Fi at 9.3.
- Ferry on one side, tombs on the otherIt is on Ramla Street in Gezirat Al Bairat, a village area on the West Bank facing Luxor Temple, about 0.7 km away in a straight line across the river. The public ferry docks a short walk away, and the Colossi of Memnon are about 3 km in a straight line.
- Meals without going outThe restaurant serves brunch, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea and has a barbecue grill, and there is room service. That helps after a long day at the tombs, when crossing back to the East Bank for dinner may not appeal.
Good to know before you book
- No cash paymentsThe hotel states that it does not accept cash, which is unusual for a small guest house in Upper Egypt. Make sure your card works abroad and ask how extras such as meals or transfers are paid.
- Simple roomsRooms are deluxe doubles of about 15 m², twins, triples and singles: compact, with air conditioning and a private bathroom. Facilities score 9.0, its lowest sub-score, so do not expect hotel-style extras beyond the pool and restaurant.
- Check-out windowCheck-in runs from 14:00 to midnight; check-out is between 08:00 and 11:30. If you have a late train or flight, ask about luggage storage, which the hotel lists.
- A village, not a townAl Bairat has local shops and a few restaurants, but the souq, the museums and most of the night life are on the East Bank. Plan on the ferry or a taxi over the bridge for those. Pets are not allowed.

Rooms
The deluxe double (about 15 m²) and deluxe twin are the standard choices for two. The deluxe triple works for a family with one child or three friends, and the deluxe single is useful for solo travellers who do not want to pay for a double.
All rooms are a similar size, so pick by bed layout rather than expecting a big difference in space. If you want more room or a kitchen for a long stay, compare the apartments at Luxor Guest House, a few minutes away.

Getting there and around
From Luxor airport
The airport is on the East Bank, about 8 km in a straight line but roughly 25 km by road, since cars cross on the bridge south of town. Expect about 40 minutes. The hotel lists a paid airport shuttle; a taxi is the alternative, with the fare agreed before you leave.
From Luxor railway station
The station is on the East Bank, about 1.5 km in a straight line. With light luggage, take a short taxi to the public ferry landing, cross and walk or take a tuk-tuk to the hotel; ask the hotel where the ferry docks now, as the landing has moved over the years. With heavy bags, a taxi over the bridge is simpler.
To the sights
On the West Bank, the Colossi of Memnon, Medinet Habu, Hatshepsut's temple and the Valley of the Kings are roughly 15 to 25 minutes by car; the hotel rents bicycles for the nearer ones. Luxor Temple and the museum are a ferry ride away, and Karnak a short taxi ride further on the East Bank. See Luxor in 3 days.
How it compares
The table puts Luxor Oasis next to its two neighbours in the riverside villages, the apartments of Luxor Guest House and the higher-rated Nile Castle, and against Abeer, the budget pick on the East Bank.
