Why stay here
- The closest to Tahrir of the small placesThe hotel is on El Tahrir Street, about 350 m from Tahrir Square according to the listing. The Egyptian Museum is roughly 800 m away and Sadat station, where metro lines 1 and 2 meet, about 300 m. Of the four small Downtown places compared below, it is the nearest to the square.
- Rooms sized for three or fourThe two room types on sale are an executive triple and a deluxe quadruple, both with a city view. For a family or a group of friends, one room for everyone can cost less than two doubles elsewhere.
- Staff score highestIt has 8.2 on Booking.com from 409 reviews (checked 12 Oct 2026). Staff is the best sub-score at 9.1, then location at 8.8. The hotel lists soundproof rooms, which matters on one of the busiest streets in the centre.
- Breakfast and flexible bookingThe rate we checked included a continental breakfast and free cancellation, and no card was needed to hold the booking. There is a shared lounge, room service and a 24-hour front desk.
Good to know before you book
- Only triples and quadruples on our datesFor 12–15 January 2027, only the triple and the quadruple were offered. It was around €69 a night for two in mid-January 2027 when we checked (price tier 2 of 4), which is the price of a triple. Prices change, and a couple may find a double cheaper at other Downtown places.
- Pay in cashBooking.com lists cash as the payment method. Plan to have enough Egyptian pounds for the whole stay on arrival, or find an ATM nearby first. Our guide to money, tipping and haggling explains how.
- An apartment floor, not a hotel buildingThe hotel occupies a flat on the 4th floor of a residential building, with a reception rather than a lobby. The street entrance and stairs belong to the building, not the hotel, and are typical of old Downtown blocks.
- Middle-of-the-range scoresCleanliness (8.3), facilities (8.1) and Wi-Fi (8.2) are lower than at Cheers or Dior nearby. Location scores 8.8, a little below the other Downtown places despite the short walk to the square.

Rooms
The executive triple with city view is the room most groups of three will book. The deluxe quadruple with city view fits four, which makes it the choice for a family with two children or two couples travelling together. Both look onto the street, and the hotel lists them as soundproofed.
There are no extra beds, so book the room size you need. Cots are free for children up to 2. Breakfast is continental. If you are two and only these rooms show for your dates, compare the total with a double at Cheers Hostel Cairo or Downtown Inn.

Getting there and around
From Cairo International Airport

Ramses, the main station, is roughly 2.5 km north. On metro Line 1 it is a short ride from Al Shohadaa to Sadat, about 300 m from the hotel; with heavy bags, take a taxi. For trains south, see Cairo to Luxor.

The Egyptian Museum is about 800 m on foot. Khan el-Khalili and the Citadel are roughly 3 km away (see Islamic Cairo), and Coptic Cairo is a few stops south on Line 1 from Sadat, at Mar Girgis. The pyramids of Giza are about 20 km by road, an hour or more in traffic.
