Why stay here

  • Walk to the Route 66 museumThe motel is on West Beale Street, about 0.5 km in a straight line from the Arizona Route 66 Museum in the old Powerhouse, which reopened with renovated exhibits in November 2025. The Mohave Museum of History and Arts is on the same street, and the historic downtown is close, so you can park once and explore on foot.
  • Fair price for the locationIt is in price tier 2 of this guide, at around €68 a night for two in mid-January 2027 when we checked, converted from US dollars. Value for money and location both score 8.8, its best sub-scores together with staff (8.7).
  • Thousands of guest scoresIt scores 8.2 on Booking.com from 2,174 reviews (checked 16 Oct 2026) and 4.1 on Google Maps from 688 reviews. With that many reviews, the scores are a steady picture rather than a lucky streak.
  • Late arrivals are fineCheck-in runs from 14:00 to 23:30, which suits a long drive from Las Vegas, California or the Grand Canyon. Parking is free, and the motel lists family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

Good to know before you book

  • Wi-Fi is the weak pointFree Wi-Fi scores 7.8, its lowest sub-score, and facilities score 8.1. If you need to work in the evening, plan on mobile data as a backup.
  • Children count as adults from age 4All ages are welcome, but from 4 years old a child is charged as an adult, and there are no cots or extra beds. A family of four will need the family room or a room with two queen beds, priced for four guests.
  • Minimum age and cards onlyThe person checking in must be at least 21, and the motel takes cards only, no cash. Pets are not allowed: if you travel with a dog, look at the Best Western at the east end of town.
  • A motel, not a full-service hotelThere is no pool, gym or breakfast listed in the facilities. Check-out is by 11:00.

Rooms

There are three room types. The king room is the choice for a couple. The queen room with two queen beds suits two friends or a parent with an older child, and the family room is for larger groups. All are air-conditioned with a private bathroom.

Because children from 4 are charged as adults and there are no cots, compare the total for your party before you book, not the headline price. Prices change with the season and around Route 66 events: check your own dates.

Getting there and around

From Phoenix Sky Harbor

Kingman is almost 200 miles (about 320 km) from Phoenix, roughly three hours by car via US-60 and US-93, according to Enterprise's route planner. There is no fast public transport on this route, so most travellers drive.

From Las Vegas

Las Vegas to Kingman is about 119 miles (192 km), roughly 2 hours 20 minutes via US-93 according to AAA, with Hoover Dam as an optional stop. See Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon. Amtrak's Southwest Chief also stops at Kingman's downtown station, on Andy Devine Avenue.

To the Grand Canyon South Rim

Mather Point is about 201 km in a straight line; by road the South Rim is about 175 miles (280 km), roughly 2 hours 45 minutes via I-40 and Williams. Grand Canyon West and the Skywalk are closer, about 79 miles (127 km) and 1.5 hours away. Read Grand Canyon fees in 2026 before you go.

Along Route 66

Heading east on the old road, the Hackberry General Store is about 36 km in a straight line and Seligman about 109 km. Our Route 66 road trip covers the stops.
